A brief lesson on retouching jewelry
Who is this lesson for:
Photographers and retouchers who know Adobe Photoshop (need intermediate retouching skills, the ability to clip products) who want:
- improve their jewelry retouching skills;
- explore a new direction for yourself – jewelry retouching.
The duration of the lesson is 1 hour and 50 minutes.
At the lesson, using the example of our product (ring), we will show how to retouch jewelry end-to-end up to the high-end level, including with the rendering of highlights.
A ready-made tif layered project is attached to the lesson.
As a bonus, the lesson shows some of the features of necklace retouching.
The cost of a short lesson: $ 300.
We can record a personal retouching lesson for one of your jewelry – in this case, the cost of the lesson will be $ 350, and the preparation period will be 10 days.

The content of the modules:


1. Introductory part.
We will study the types of retouching, how they differ globally from each other and learn how to evaluate retouching by reference.
2. Clipping and primary processing of the product.
We will study several ways of clipping the whole product and its elements, as well as learn how to do color correction.




3. Metal retouching.
We will learn how to clean metal from dirt, use filters, draw highlights and reflexes.
4. Gemstone retouching.
We will study how to clean stones from dirt and dust, as well as all the nuances of working with facets.



5. Creating of the light-and-shade image, reflections and shadows from scratch.
We will learn how to fix even the worst sources and prevent the creation of flat, plastic or unrealistic products.
6. Smart objects, donor databases, background retouching.
